How can I verify that myself?

Press F12 to open Developer Tools, click the Network tab, then compress a PDF. You'll see zero uploads. In fact, you can disconnect from the internet and compression still works.

How does the compression actually work?

Pages are re-encoded as optimized images and repacked, step by step, until the file lands at your target size. Text-heavy PDFs shrink less than image-heavy ones — if your PDF is mostly text, we'll tell you honestly what's achievable.

Are there really no limits?
